Intake

Inbound deal flow that arrives by email, screened automatically and held for triage before it becomes a deal.

Most deal flow arrives as email. Intake is where it lands before anyone has decided what it is.

Questions this page answers

  • What came in that nobody has looked at?
  • Is any of it worth screening properly?
  • Does this belong to a deal or a prospect we already have?

How it works

Forwarded or received mail is captured, attributed to your organization, and stored as a durable record. Attachments are pulled out and screened, so an offering memorandum that arrived at 11pm has already been read by the time you open it.

Where the message relates to an existing prospect, intake attempts to match it rather than creating a duplicate.

Triage

From intake you can attach a record to an existing deal or prospect, promote it into the pipeline, or dismiss it. Dismissing is recorded rather than silent, so inbound flow that was considered and declined is distinguishable from inbound flow nobody saw.

Security

Inbound mail is untrusted input and is treated as such. Delivery is verified before a record is created, and processing fails closed rather than accepting unverified mail. See Data isolation.
